The obituary of Phillip Greenhill appeared in the Stewart County Times on December 2, 1927 and reads:

Greenhill, Phillip, 32 son of Ed N. Greenhill, was struck in head by a piece of steel at sawmill near Tobaccoport Saturday. His brother-in-law Albert Earhart, 41, in going for help was kicked in stomach by mule. Earhart died thirty minutes before Phillip. Albert was son of Lige Earhart.

His obituary published , June 8, 1948, in "Paducah Sun Democrat" reads in part as follows:

William Griffin, 81, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday at his home, 436 Ashcraft Avenue, after an illness of several weeks. He was a member of the East Baptist Church. Mr. Griffin was general foreman of the Cohankus Manufacturing Company here for several years. He retired when the company ceased operations here. Survivors include four sons, Ernest, Woodrow, Homer and Roy Griffin, all of Paducah; three daughters, Mrs. Tom Yates and Miss Mary Griffin, Paducah, and Mrs. Corinne Jenson, Racine, Wis.; a sister Mrs. Lula Lawson, Mayfield; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the residence with the Rev. T. J. Tichenor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetary. The body will be at the residence.

4831. Norman L. Pegram (James E. , Daniel Ethelbert , William Baker , William S. , Edward , Daniel , George ) was born ^{1, 2} in Apr 1873 in Tennessee. He died ³ on 20 Nov 1933 in McCracken Co., Kentucky.

He is still single, living at home at the time fo the 1900 Census. In 1910 he is found with his family. In 1920, Fanny, Verdis and Margaret are living in what appears to be an orphanage very close to their home. Perhaps Amanda was simply not able to care for all the children. In 1930 Norman is found as a widow in the home of his brother, William Aden Pegram.

Judith Edwards of Paducah, Kentucky was kind enough to send us additional information about the accident that resulted in such hardship for the family. According to Judith, "At some time the father was injured in the head as something at his workplace, the I. C. R. R. shops, fell on him. He was never the same after that and, from time to time, was an inmate in the asylum at Hopkinsville, KY. He would come home from time to time and 9 months later, another child would be born. Amanda at one time worked at the same Home of the Friendless, where some of her children were being cared for."

Norman married Amanda Greenville Waldrop ¹ daughter of David Lucas Waldrop and L. E. Baker about 1900 in McCracken Co., Kentucky. Amanda was born ² on 13 Jun 1880 in Kentucky. She died ³ on 10 Feb 1928 in McCracken Co., Kentucky. She was buried in Clarks River Cemetery, Graves Co., Kentucky.

Her name is given as Amanda Waldrop on the birth certificate for Ed T. Pegram.

Parker married Edna Juanita Behimer of Kenton, Okla., in 1939 and the couple purchased a ranch in Oklahoma where they lived until returning to Quay County in 1957. In 1966 Parker was the FFA Honorary State Farmer . In 1972 he received the New Mexico Soil Conservationalist of the Year Award and the N.M. Bankers Association award for range improvements he made. He is survived by four children: Juanita Marie , Thomas (Charley) of Tucumcari, Patricia Nell (Patsy) Thompson (Frank) of Springer, Raymond Frank Parker (Gigi) of Tucumcari, and James Donald Parker (Becky Janice) of Keystone, Neb.; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Parker was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Sanders Parker; his wife, Edna Parker; his parents; three brothers, James Otis Parker, D?Roy Parker, and Ira William Parker; two sisters, Ivy May Parker and Bertha Lee Parker, and one grandson. Services were held Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home with burial following at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery His obituary reads in part: Aaron Sanders Parker, 89, of Tucumcari died Wednesday, July 28, 2004.
