It reads: Sara L. Pegram, born 6-9-1805, departed this life on 9-19-1846 in the 41st year of her life. Another stone reads: Sallie Pegram, born August 1, d: February 2, 1829. This is believed to be one of her children who died young.
George W. then married Mary (Polly) Bell, slightly older than his oldest daughter and moved to Perry Co., before 1853. He received a land grant of 250 acres September 9, 1853 in Perry Co., and eventually became owner of several hundred acres on Tom's Creek. Their children were William, Jane and Adeline. Adeline and John were minors at the time the estate was settled.
Mary (Polly) died July 17, 1876 and George died prior to September 16, 1876 (same year ) as that was the date of the settling of the estate. The following is a list of the heirs :
Sarah Heath, Thomas, Jane Heath, John Henry, Jasper Thornton (grandson) son of Louisa (deceased), Caroline Bell, William Malibar, Adeline Pegram, and Georgianne Sutton.

, George
) was born on 6 Feb 1806 in Davidson Co., Tennessee. He died on 2 Feb 1876 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.
It should be noted that there is a conflict as to the father of Roger P. Pegram. All records indicate that the only Roger P. Pegram in early Tennessee was the son of George Scott Pegram, Jr. However, a letter written by Carrie Pegram Heath to Evelyn Rosenstrater disputes this assumption. It reads in part:
"Grandpa & Grandma Pegram, your grandparents & mine were Roger Pegram, born 6th day of Feb. 1 806 and Carolina Williams Pegram, born 1st, 1811. They were married on the 7th day of December 1831.
