Ron,

You are correct that there are 2 sides to every story and for months I have
read only one on this and other lists.    As you may recall, you worked
vigorously to avoid having the vote put to the membership in North Carolina
when the discussion of Diane's dismissal was raised initially.  As part of
your efforts on Diane's (and Daryl's) behalf, you tried to mediate, thinking
that you might be able to find a middle ground that would satisfy the
parties.  I was one of the parties  because of Diane's charges on a public
list that I have been guilty of copyright infringement because one quotation
from her site was found on the new site, which I had nothing to do with.
Diane knew this, you knew this, and to try to get me change my mind about
her dismissal, you urged Diane to apologize to me publicly and privately.
You also urged the party who actually filed the grievance about my supposed
"copyright infringement" to apologize but she adamantly refused. You urged
me to ignore the fact that you could not get an apology from the second
individual because "she was not a part of the NCGenWeb Project".  Again, I
went along, foolishly thinking that you might have enough influence to
really get certain parties to stop their activities.  You were not able to
do so and you know it. I have never made any of our  communications public
but it has not stopped Daryl and Diane from their appointed course.   When
their first attempt to discredit me failed, they again, using another proxy,
filed another grievance of copyright infringement.  The charges had only one
purpose - to try and embarrass me.  I was not embarrassed because I had done
nothing wrong but the truth was no deterrence to their efforts.   This too
passed and I only mention this to point out how far people who can never
admit a mistake will go in an attempt to discredit those who wish nothing
more than to be left in peace.   Daryl and Diane, et al, will not admit a
mistake, even when it is blatantly pointed out that they are wrong and the
only redress requested is an apology.   There was a deadline set which
passed and you again asked me to hold off any decision because you still
hoped Diane might agree to an apology.  Long after the deadlines passed,
Diane posted her excuse for an apology but she never apologized to me either
publicly or privately and you knew it.  Your response in her defense was
that her message on her mail list, bland and non-committal as it was, was
"probably the hardest thing she ever did in her life".  Because I really
wanted to see the turmoil end, you had  my agreement to your proposals but
you never got anything from Diane.. To date, I have lived up to my agreement
but after months of seeing that it was totally a one-sided agreement, I
think it is time to let the whole truth be known.  To the innocent, it is my
firm belief this list was formed by Daryl solely for the purpose of allowing
Diane, Daryl, et al, to have a place to continue their diatribes about
everything concerning the USGenWeb Project.  I has been fairly tame to date
but their Rebuttal Page tells the real story.  It really is nothing more to
them than a "campaign tool" to promote their point of view without
challenge, hoping to sway the unsuspecting.

You have been Diane's strongest supporter and even you have not been able to
bring yourself to say that Diane was not a disruptive influence and her
constant harassment over the years has dominated a great deal of the time
and attention of 3 administrations in North Carolina as well as the various
sitting members of the AB.  Diane's one position is that she should be
allowed to continually and continuously say anything and everything she
wishes about anyone and that she should be allowed to monopolize the entire
attention of all members of the USGenWeb if she wishes and that is her
"right" and that by denying that right, she has been wronged.  If anyone
really believes that an entire organization should allow themselves to do
nothing constructive for years other than answer one parties continued and
repeated cries of "poor me", then there is truly no hope for any
organization to progress and accomplish anything.

The issue was finally brought to a vote and the CCs in North Carolina did
speak .. and it was NOT a new team of handpicked CCs as Diane and Daryl have
alleged on their filthy Rebuttal page, it was the CCs who have been there
for years, quietly doing their pages and trying to stay out of Diane's line
of fire.

Diane is no longer a member of the NCGenWeb and that is that.  I know she
has and will continue to argue and harass every person in "authority" for
years to come telling all about how badly abused she was... AIN'T SO... the
NCGenWeb was the abused party and suffered long in silence until they
finally decided there had to be an end.  I am an old lady with serious
health problems and my time for constructive work is indeed short.  However,
for the time I have left, I would like to work in peace within the structure
of the NCGenWeb Project, as do the majority of the CCs who recently made
their positions known with their vote.  I do genealogy and can do it with or
without GenWeb - it would change nothing for me.  Diane does not do
genealogy.. she is much to engrossed fighting her demons.  For Diane,
fighting the structure is a full time, life's ambition.  I am just sorry
that she chose an organization like GenWeb as her target.  I am sure her
talents could be better used elsewhere but I am sure I will not live long
enough to see the end of her all consuming passion which is to fight GenWeb
and anyone even loosely connected who dares to suggest that her actions are
inappropriate.

I respect your opinion but as you said, you opened the door for the other
side of the story.  I know this will only bring me more grief  but someone
has to pay the price to refute Diane and Daryl's constant and continued
drive to control the USGenWeb Project.  If there is anyone on Daryl's new
ALL-L who wants to see the real opinions of the parties responsible who have
brought you the ALL-L,  then read the Rebuttal Page at:

http://www.member-webroots.org/rebuttals/index.htm

This is my rebuttal to their "rebuttal" which is really nothing but their
condemnation of everything about the USGenWeb Project.  Those who have
subscribed to this list simply are not aware that those responsible for
starting the list do not have the best interest of the USGenWeb Project but
do have ulterior motives... control of GenWeb or the demise of GenWeb. They
seem ambivalent so I am not really sure what they want.  Surely they must
admit that at least ONE response to their mountains of charges should be
allowed to speak and I have spoken.

While I am at it, I might ask Daryl openly to remove the statements about
poor Maggie's supposed heart attack.  That is a falsehood and he knows it.
Daryl, show your honestly and remove that filth.
