In 1910 the 5 younger children are still at home. Lela, Dora and Pattie are no longer in the home. Liviing with the family is Mitchel Vaughn, age 79, who is identified as "uncle".

In 1930, Elihu was a widow, living with his son, Allen Gideon.

William H. Pegram of Guilford Co., N.C., age 21, son of William Pegram and wife Mary Pegram. Father now living - mother is dead. Witnesses: A.L. Lemons, Claris Pegram and John H. Pegram.

Nettie Rumbley of Rockingham Co., N.C., age 18, daughter of Wm. Rumbley (dead) and wife Nancy J. Rumbley (living). Married December 2, 1891 at home of Nancy J. Rumbley in Huntsville Township.

William married Nettie Rumbley daughter of William Rumbley and Nancy J. on 3 Dec 1891 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Nettie was born in 1873 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died before 1920.

Her name is shown as Mary on the 1900 Census which also has her birth date as 1878. We assume the correct date is 1873 as evidenced by her marriage record showing she was 18 when she married in 1891.

William and Nettie had the following children:

8239 M i William Jasper Pegram was born¹ in Jul 1894 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. He died on 20 Nov 1951 in Winston Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.

We found a copy of his obituary in the Pegram family papers in the Special Collections Library at Duke University. The year was penciled in but the obituary which appears to be from a Greensboro, North Carolina paper reads:

"Winston-Salem, Nov. 20 - William Jasper Pegram, 57, of Winston-Salem died at a local hospital this morning. He had been in declining health for some time and seriously ill for two days. He was born in Rockingham Couny. He spent his early life in Germanton in Stokes County and had lived in Winston-Salem for the last 35 years. He was employed by the Southern Railroad as a conductor. He was a member of Centenary Methodist Church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was married in 1918 to Miss Emily Graves who survives. Other survivors include Mrs. Edward Eustis of Orlando, Fla.; one son, W. J. Pegram, Jr. of the U. S. Army in Korea; one sister, Mrs. Joe Parsons of Ashboro, and two brothers, Oscar M. Pegram of New York City, and Edgar Pegram of Asheboro. Funeral will be held at Vogler's Chapel at 3:30 p.m. Thusday by Dr. Mark Depp. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery."

Note: The 1900 Census shows his name as William C. Pegram but we have shown his name as it appears in his obituary which we consider to be more accurate.
