Her obituary published October 11, 1997 in the Greensboro News & Record reads in part:

Sadie Pegram Rice, 89, of 1614 Rice Road, Reidsville, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Camp Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Litzenberger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Rebecca Brincefield Pegram and had lived in the Cherry Grove Community of Caswell County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women's Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen N. Rice; a daughter, Betty R. Cobb; and a grandson, Mark Smith. Surviving are four daughters, Martha R. Hamlett, Kathleen R. Aldridge and Janice R. Vernon, all of Yanceyville, and Grey R. Smith of Elon College; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Citty Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.

Sadie married Stephen Norman Rice son of George D. Rice and Cora L. Vincent. Stephen was born ¹ on 7 Nov 1904 in North Carolina. He died ² on 24 Nov 1990.

James married Cora Luola Friddle on 5 Sep 1936 in Martinsville, Henry Co., Virginia. Cora was born on 13 May 1918 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died on 19 Mar 2004 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Her obituary reads in part:

Luola Friddle Pegram passed through the gates of heaven on March 19, 2004. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Pegram suffered from Alzheimer's and has been a resident of John Knox Manor nursing home in Montgomery, Ala. for the past several years.
Mrs. Pegram spent her youth on a farm in Stokesdale. There she met James J. Pegram at a nearby farm and they were married in 1936 and soon after moved to Greensboro.

They were both faithful and active members of the Salvation Army. Mrs. Pegram worked at the Salvation Army for many years in the social service programs. She was a witness in word and deed for Jesus Christ. Her life was dedicated to others. Her husband, James was promoted to glory in 1974.

She is survived by son, Barry W. Pegram and daughter-in-law, Joyce (Reagan) of Perdido Key, Fla.; daughter, Judy Pegram Falin and son-in-law, John Falin of Baltimore, Md.; and son, David Pegram and daughter-in-law, Ellen (Reaves) of Prattville, Ala.; grandchildren, Lisa Falin Harper and husband, Ron of Wilmore, Ky.; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Nathan, John David Falin and wife, Melanie; and great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ali of Houston, Texas, Melissa Pegram Farley and husband, Jim of Suwanee, Ga., Laurel Pegram of Madison, Wis., Paige Pegram Barnette and husband, Tony of Fairhope, Ala., and Jamie Lynn Pegram of Mobile, Ala.; brother, George Norman Friddle and wife, Faye of Kernersville; and sister, Charity Ballard of Montgomery, Ala.; brother-in-law, Gilbert Clapp of McLeansville. Also surviving brother-in-law, Wesley Long Pegram (Minnie); sisters-in-law, Jewel Pegram, Daisy Pegram, Mamie Tucker and Mary Clayton (Giles).

James and Cora had the following children:

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, at Brooke Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Charles Vaughn. Burial will be in Mt. Bethel Christian Church. A native of Stokes County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Virgil and Lillie Virginia Furgason Wood. She was married to the late George Rankin Pegram. She was a homemaker, and a member of Mt. Bethel Christian Church. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Karen Goins of Madison, Mrs. Lucille Neal of Stokesdale, and Ralph Pegram of Summerfield; sisters, Mrs. Bessie Angel of Morganton, Mrs. Florence Moricle of Summerfield, Mrs. Mae Norman of Summerfield, Mrs. Helen Coble of Greensboro; brother, E. V. Wood of Stokesdale; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

They had the following children:

Bethel Christian Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., North Carolina. His obituary reads in part: Summerfield — Mr. Ralph Gideon Pegram, 76, of 762 Witty Road, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Mt. Bethel Christian Church with burial following in the church cemetery. He was born March 16, 1925, in Guilford County, to the late Rankin and Dee Wood Pegram. Mr. Prgram was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Bethel Christian Church. He is survived by two sisters, Lucille P. Neal of Stokesdale, Karen Goins and husband, Wayne of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
