The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 25 years. They have had 4 children, all living in the home.

Meredith married Mary E. Davidson daughter of Obadiah J. W. Davidson and Lucinda K. Carlton about 1875. Mary was born in May 1854 in Tennessee. She died ¹ on 18 Jul 1918 in Obion Co., Tennessee. She was buried ² in Minnick Cemetery, Obion, Tennessee. Mary was born ^{3, 4} on 29 May 1854 in Tennessee.

3532. Elminah (Elmira) Rebecca Pegram (Jesse Franklin , John , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born ^{1, 2, 3, 4} on 22 Apr 1848 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. She died on 29 Jan 1912 in Virgil, Greenwood Co., Kansas.

The 1880 Census shows she was born in Indiana but she was in fact born in North Carolina.

Elminah married (1) James H. Henley on 21 May 1865 in Gibson Co., Indiana.

Elminah married (2) Robert Stone on 24 Oct 1867 in Gibson Co., Indiana. Robert was born ^{1, 2} in 1833 in Georgia.

This differs from the 1880 census which shows him to be age 50 and born in Indiana.

They had the following children:

3533. John H. Pegram (Jesse Franklin , John , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born ^{1, 2, 3, 4} on 20 Dec 1849 in Forsyth Co., North Carolina. He died on 24 Apr 1922.

In 1880 he is found living with America's family working as a farmhand. In 1920 he is shown as a widow. Living with him is his single daughter, Elsie, age 19.

His obituary published in "The Emporia Daily Gazette" April 24, 1922, reads as follows:

"J. H. Pegram died at 11:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 810 Cottonwood St. The cause of his death was heart trouble. He had been seriously sick since Saturday night. J. H. Pegram was born December 20, 1849. He came to Kansas about 40 years ago. He moved to Emporia three years ago last August. Mr. Pegram was married October 8, 1882 to Miss America Sharp at Virgil. Mrs. Pegram died May 30, 1916. Mr. Pegram is survived by one son John N. Pegram of Virgil, and one daughter Miss Elsie Pegram of Emporia. Another daughter, Miss Melinda Pegram, died August 1, 1920. Mr. Pegram also is survived by two brothers Lum Pegram of Idaho, and Henderson Pegram of Indiana. He was a member of The United Brethren Church in Virgil."

John married (1) Lizzie McConnaughey on 19 Sep 1880 in Greenwood Co., Kansas.

She died shortly after giving birth to a daughter who is thought to have died at the same time.

John married ¹ (2) America Sharp daughter of Isaac Sharp and Malinda (aka Amanda) Hawkins on 8 Oct 1882 in Kansas. America was born ^{2, 3, 4} in Apr 1862 in Kansas. She died on 30 May 1916 in Kansas.

They had the following children:

	8817	F	i	Malinda Pegram was born 1, 2 in Feb 1884 in Kansas. She died on 1 Aug 1920. Died single without issue based on her father's obituary.
	8818	M	ii	John Newton Pegram was born 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on 22 Jul 1894 in Virgil, Greenwood Co., Kansas. He died in Oct 1954 in Virgil, Greenwood Co., Kansas. His obituary which appeared in The Emporia Gazette, Emporia, Kansas, October 21, 1954, reads as follows: "John N. Pegram, farmer and stockman who lived at Virgil, died in the Neuman Memorial County hospital Wednesday night at 10:45 o'clock. Funeral services will be held in the Virgil United Brethren Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Mr. Pegram was born at Virgil July 22, 1893, a son of the late John H. and America Sharp Pegram. He married Fannie Wagner at Grindley, June 27, 1918. he is survived by his wife of the home, and a sister, Miss Melinda Pegram, 1118 West Eleventh, Emporia. He was a cousin of Roscoe W. Graves of Emporia. Mr. Pegram was a member of the Gridley Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite of Topeka."
				John married Fannie Valora Wagner daughter of Fillmore D. Wagner and Mary F. Parks on 27 Jun 1918 in Gridley, Kansas. Fannie was born 1 on 11 Jul 1893 in Kansas. She died in Nov 1984 in Chanute, Neosho Co., Kansas.
	8819	F	iii	Elsie Pegram was born 1, 2 in 1901 in Kansas. She apparently never married and left no issue.

3534. Robert Henderson Pegram (Jesse Franklin , John , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born ^{1, 2, 3, 4} on 1 Nov 1851 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. He died on 8 Oct 1936 in Princeton, Indiana.

The 1900 Census reflects the couple have been married for 24 years. They have had 8 children, all living in the home.

In 1920 he and Fannie are found living with their daughter, Grace Greenwood.

The 1900 Census shows he was born in 1853 but we will accept family records.

Robert married (1) Mary J. Mounts on 15 Aug 1875. Mary was born on 1 Nov 1859. She died on 29 May 1876.

Robert married (2) Fannie Byes Simpson ¹ on 31 Aug 1876 in Gibson Co., Indiana. Fannie was born ^{2, 3, 4} in Dec 1853 in Indiana. She died on 19 Feb 1929 in Gibson Co., Indiana.

The marriage records of Elsie Pegram, Oscar Pegram and Luther Pegram show their mother's maiden name as Fannie Byer, Fannie Bies and Fany Brjie respectively.

				Evelyn married (2) Tom Roberts on 27 Sep 1953 in Jerome, Jerome Co., Idaho. Tom was born on 3 Apr 1879 in England. He died on 29 May 1958 in Jerome, Jerome Co., Idaho.

				Elsie married 2 John William Shepherd 1 on 1 Jan 1908 in Gibson Co., Indiana. John was born on 1 Nov 1888 in Gibson Co., Indiana. He died on 25 Feb 1925 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa. Parents of John William Shepherd are taken from his marriage license.

				Opal married Hoben.
	8826	M	vii	Cyrus Edward Pegram was born on 8 Feb 1892. He died in Feb 1970.
	8827	M	viii	James Harvey Pegram 1, 2 was born 3, 4, 5 on 25 Apr 1895 in Indiana. He died 6 on 15 Sep 1977 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California. There was a newspaper article published Aug. 29, 1905 about the broken leg sustained by James Harvey. In 1920 he is found living in the home of his sister, Grace Greenwood.
				James married (1) Helen Clara Coker on 25 Feb 1918 in Ogallala, Keith Co., Nebraska. Helen was born in Nebraska. She died in 1919 in Sutherland, Lincoln Co., Nebraska.
				James married (2) Nellie Johnson on 26 Sep 1920. Nellie was born on 6 Jul 1902 in Gibson Co., Indiana. She died on 22 Nov 1987 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California.

3535. Bartlett W.C. Pegram (Jesse Franklin , John , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born ^{1, 2} on 18 Mar 1854. He died ³ on 13 Mar 1879 in Gibson Co., Indiana. He was buried ⁴ in Emerson Hill Cemetery, Gibson Co., Indiana.

Bartlett married Margaret J Woods ¹ on 17 Oct 1876 in Gibson Co., Indiana. Margaret was born about 1858 in Indiana.

In 1880, Margaret and her daughter are found living in the home of Levi Lucas. With the large number of residents in home, it appears it was probably a boarding house or apartment building.

In 1900 the couple were living with her parents in Galena Twnshp., Jasper Co., Kansas. They were divorced before 1910 and Ida remarried a Walter Graves prior to the 1910 Census.

Marion married Ida M. Odell daughter of Victor Odell and Jeminia about 1895. Ida was born in Apr 1883 in Kansas.

The 1910 Census reflectes the couple have been married for 35 years. They have had 6 children with 5 living, all of whom are still in the home.

The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 13 years. Mary has had 4 children with 2 living. We think this may have been a second marriage for Mary since she was not found as Mary Barham on the 1880 Census.

Mary married Tom Fletcher Harrison Williams on 21 Sep 1886 in McNairy Co., Tennessee. Tom was born ¹ in Aug 1867 in Tennessee.

Thomas married Lydia Opheliaemilne Young on 16 Dec 1888 in McNairy Co., Tennessee. Lydia was born ^{1, 2, 3} in Mar 1871 in Tennessee.

In 1930, Lydia is found as a widow. The 8 younger children as well as Homer are still at home. There is also a grandson, Hirchal, age 4l, in the home but we are unable to determine who his father is at this time.

The 1920 Census shows that Joel was born in Illinois rather than Tennessee so it is possible the family may have been in Illinois for a short time.
