His obituary reads in part:

"Mr. Billy Ray Pegram, 70, of 1828 Hwy 68 N., died Sunday Nov. 9, 2003, at his home... Mr. Pegram was born in Guilford County, a son of the late Ernest and Ora Eva Joyce Pegram and was a member of the Deep River Friends Meeting, a retiree of the Atlantic Richfield Petroleum Co., and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joel Ernest Pegram and Charles Pegram.

Surviving are his wife, Caroline Lankford Pegram of the home; a son, Randy Ray Pegram and his wife Jerri Fields Pegram of Oak Ridge; two grandchildren, Justin Lane Pegram and Amber Renee Pegram: two sisters, Betty Robinson of Colfax and Shirley King of Summerfield: a brother, Richard E. Pegram of Summerfield..."

Billy married ¹ Carolyn Ruth Lankford on 27 Oct 1956 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.

Mrs. Doris Pegram Baker, 68, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997, at her residence. Mrs. Baker is survived by her mother, Edna Pegram of Kernersville; daughter, Karen Baker of Pine Knoll Shores; son and wife, Barry Baker and Frances Baker of Richmond, VA.; sisters, Margaret T. Shields of Greensboro, Nancy P. Cox and husband, Dan Cox of Greensboro; brothers, Ramound D. Pegram and wife, Leta Pegram of Greensboro, Mark A. Pegram and wife, Jill Pegram of Greensboro, Stanley Pegram of Kernersville, Melvin G. Pegram and wife, Linda Pegram of Mc Leansville, Troy L. Pegram and wife, Ione Pegram of Raleigh, and Charles N. Pegram and wife, Carol Pegram of Hillsborough. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two great -grandchildren.

Doris married Clarence Baker son of George Baker and Emily Collins.

The following is an excerpt from an article appearing in the The News & Record (Piedmont Triad, NC); 2/11/2003:

"Stokesdale -- Developers have begun work on Arbor Run, a northwest Guilford County community of custom homes planned for 220 acres of farmland that had been in the same family more than 200 years.

Those homes will be going up on land that Raymond Pegram's family has farmed since 1791 when great-great grandfather Edward Pegram married Pathenia Jean. Her father, Edmund Jean, owned much of the tract at the time, and modern day Pegrams believe a collapsed cabin on the back side of the tract was his...

For Raymond Pegram, it was tough parting with land that had been in his family since the years following the Revolutionary War. "

The property is located on Haw River Road a half mile from N.C. 68 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.

Marie married Newton Eugene Whicker ¹ son of John Elijah Whicker and Augusta Elizabeth Pegram on 31 Dec 1948. Newton was born ^{2, 3} on 15 Mar 1920 in Belews Creek, Forsyth Co., North Carolina. He died on 26 Oct 1995 in Kernersville, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.

His obituary from the Greensboro New and Records includes the following: Mr. Newton Eugene Whicker, 75, of 2800 Piney Grove Road died Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Forsyth County to the late John E. and Augusta Pegram Whicker. He graduated from Walkertown School and Draughn's Business College. He was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and treasurer. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II from 1942-1945, a retiree of Brendles and an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Alma W. Murray and Reba W. Beeson. Surviving are his wife, Marie Holt Whicker of the home; son, Ronald E. Whicker Sr. and wife, Susan of Greenville; daughter, Wanda W. Smoot and husband, Keith of Kernersville; grandchildren, Ronald Whicker Jr., Elizabeth Smoot and Katie Smoot; sisters, Beulah W. Smith of Winston-Salem, Clara W. Dwiggins of Kernersville; and brother, James A. Whicker of Kernersville. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Goodwill Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.

Her obituary published March 20, 1999 in the Greensboro News & Record reads in part:

Mrs. Peggy Holt Schwebs Waddell, 65, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Rex Hospital. Mrs. Waddell was a former resident of Raleigh and Greensboro. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Vestal and the Rev. Tim Bailey. Interment will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stokesdale. She was born on May 25, 1933 in Guilford County, to the late Emmett and Geneva Pegram Holt. Mrs. Waddell retired from IBM and then was employed at Balentine's Cafeteria in Cameron Village for several years. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy H. Waddell of Centre, Ala.; sons, Tim Tuttle of Raleigh and Kent Schwebs of Raleigh; step-son, Jimmy H. Waddell, Jr. of Indianola, Okla.; daughter, Melinda Tuttle of Raleigh; brothers, Paul Holt of Browns Summit, Bobby Holt of Galax, Va. and Roy Holt of Winston-Salem; sisters, Marie Whicker of Kernersville, Ann Doss of Lexington and Frances Moore of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Sterling Tuttle and Ryan Sykes.
