William married Elizabeth Massey Simpson. Elizabeth was born ¹ in 1864 in North Carolina.

The 1910 Census shows that Elizabeth has had 10 children with 8 living. Living in the home are James, Howard and Reuben from her first marriage and John Roy, Bryan and Essie from her second marriage.

They had the following children:

	4407	M	ii	Howard Truitt was born 1, 2, 3 in Apr 1885 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. In 1910, Howard is still single and living at home. His occupation is given a Minister. The 1930 Census shows his occupation as Presbyterian minister. It appears he has been married for about 10 years and his wife's name is Shannie. The couple had no children at the time of the 1930 Census.
	4408	M	iii	Reuben Truitt was born on 28 Mar 1887. He died in Mar 1972.

Harrison Lee Truitt married his brother's widow and raised her sons from her first marriage. We had thought this must be the case based on census records but it was also confirmed by a phone conversation with John Truitt, a grandson of William Truitt and Elizabeth.

Harrison married ¹ Elizabeth Massey Simpson about 1891 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Elizabeth was born ² in 1864 in North Carolina.

The 1910 Census shows that Elizabeth has had 10 children with 8 living. Living in the home are James, Howard and Reuben from her first marriage and John Roy, Bryan and Essie from her second marriage.

Presnell St., Asheboro, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Randolph Hospital. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Back Creek Friends Meeting cemetery, with the Rev. George McDowell officiating. She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of George Pegram Jr. and a homemaker. Surviving are daughter, Mary P. Ciervo of Asheboro; sons, William Pegram of Randleman, Charles Pegram of Statesville, Jerry Pegram of Union Grove; two grandchildren.

Born in Forsyth County, she was married to Carl Everett for 64 years, was a homemaker and a member of Stokesdale Christian Church. Survivors are husband, Carl T. Everett of the home; son, George Adams of the home; sisters, Ella May Holbrook, Ruby West and Clara Kellam.
				Hazel married Carl T. Everett about 1933 in Stokesdale, Guilford Co., North Carolina.

His obituary published in the Greensboro News & Record on August 25, 2000 reads in part: COLFAX — Mr. Charles Norman "Wiggie" Pegram, 70, of 710 Lakedale Road, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital.The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, by the Rev. Charles "Chuck" Peters and the Rev. Larry Carter. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery. He was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Guilford County, to the late Ernest N. and Ora Joyce Pegram. Mr. Pegram was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for Pilot Freight Carriers, for 25 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 391. He was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joel N. Pegram.Surviving are his wife, Joanne Pegram of the home; two sisters, Betty Robinson of Colfax and Shirley King of Summerfield; two brothers, Billy Ray Pegram of Oak Ridge and Richard E. Pegram of Summerfield.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home, Kernersville.

Ervin married Emma Plummer daughter of Charlie Plummer and Anna Marshall on 30 Dec 1926. Emma was born ¹ on 7 Aug 1908 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died ² on 27 Jan 1999 in Greensboro, Guilford Co., North Carolina.

Her obituary published January 29, 1999 in the Greensboro News & Record reads in part:

Mrs. Emma Frances Plummer Pegram, 90, a resident of the Bradford Village West and formerly of Stokesdale, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at Moses Cone Hospital. Mrs. Pegram was born in Rockingham County, a daughter of Charlie and Anna Marshall Plummer and was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin P. Pegram and a son, Howard Pegram. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Rev. Cleo Holt of Colfax, and Virginia and Elvin C. Parrish of Randleman; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger Ervin and Sylvia Pegram of Lauray, VA.; two sisters, Dorothy Lawson of Pine Hall and Lacy P. Bacher of Greensboro; a brother, James Plummer of Walnut Cove, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

They had the following children:

Edna May (Brown) Pegram has left her descendants a fantastic history of her life. A long time member of Bethel United Methodist Church, she has also left us a church history which is posted on this website.
