Mrs. Stafford was born in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late Walter E. Hilton Sr., and Viola Goode Hilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Stafford.

Surviving are three daughters, Teresa Wagoner and husband Kenneth, Terrilyn Stafford and Lisa Stafford, all of Kernersville; a son, Ricki Stafford also of Kernersville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Frances McGee and Fay Case, both of Stokesdale and Margaret Brown of Winston Salem; a brother, Walter Hilton Jr., of Stokesdale.

Berneda married Charles Eugene Stafford. Charles was born ¹ on 23 Jul 1931 in North Carolina. He died ² on 4 Oct 1994 in Kernersville, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.

His obituary from the Greensboro, News & Record reads in part:

"Mr. Charles Harrison Lowdermilk died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Moses Cone Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Gardens Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Jimmy Dillon. Mr. Lowdermilk was of the Protestant faith and was a B-29 pilot and a flight instructor while serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II. He was an estimator and engineer for highway construction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgeva Cook Lowdermilk.

His daughter, Cynthia Anne Lowdermilk of Greensboro; brothers, Walter Joseph Lowdermilk and wife Midji of Salisbury, Thomas Craven Lowdermilk and wife Merlene of Branford, Fla., and Theodore Houston Lowdermilk and wife Lolita of Lubbock, Texas, all survive him."

His obituary from the Sanford Herald reads in part as follows:

"Sanford - George C. Goode, 76, of 154 Fountainwood Drive, died Sunday (2/1/04) at Central Carolina Hospital. A native of Guilford County, he was a son of the late George Sr. and Annie Lee Morgan Goode. He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Weis Goode. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stokesdale United Methodist Church cemetery, Stokesdale, by the Rev. Allen Vanmetor.

Surviving are daughters, Brenda Denton of Sanford and Vickie Cotten of Spring Lake; his stepmother, Mary Tedder of Stokesdale; stepsisters, Thelma Bray and Imagene Reid, both of Greensboro; a half-brother, Paul Hilton of Greensboro; and a grandchild."

George married Millie Weis. Millie was born ¹ on 20 Oct 1938 in Kansas. She died ² on 13 Dec 1993 in Durham, Durham Co., North Carolina.

Alvin married ¹ Ada M. Moore daughter of Patrick Moore and Grace Angel on 24 Dec 1949 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. Ada was born on 25 Mar 1931 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died on 25 May 2006.

Her obituary from the Winston-Salem Journal, June 22, 2006, reads in part as follows:

STOKESDALE - Mrs. Marylene Moore Pegram, 75, died Thursday May 25, 2006, at Heritage at Towne Center in Harrisburg. A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Pegram was born on March 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Patrick and Grace Angel Moore. She was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church. On Dec. 24, 1949, she married the Rev. Alvin J. Pegram, and she served her Lord as a pastor's wife for 40 years. Mrs. Pegram is survived by her husband of 56 years, the Rev. Alvin Pegram, formerly of Greensboro; daughters Vivian Angel and her husband, Harold, and Rebecca Goldsmith, both of Thomasville; son Randy Pegram and his wife, Edwina, of Charlotte; brothers James Moore and his wife, Melinda, of Stokesdale, Bobby Moore and his wife, Dare, of North Wilkesboro and Gerald Moore and his wife, Judy, of Lexington, S.C.; sisters Essie Peoples and her husband, Don, of Stokesdale, Juanita Pegram and her husband, Paul. of Walkertown, Linda Pegram and her husband, Richard, of Winston-Salem and Patricia Chrismon and her husband, Tom, of Browns Summit; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Moore. Mrs. Pegram's funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Oak Level Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Walters and the Rev. Jimmy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
